The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) would like to respond to recent media claims concerning the alleged closure of its Faculty of Law. The University reassures students and parents/guardians that the Faculty of Law has not, and will not, be shut down.
The CUEA city campus for the second time marked a day to award its graduates their certificates on 30th October, 2015 at the university’s city campus (I&M house, Kenyatta Avenue).
Present at the ceremony was the town campus director Rev. Dr. Peter Mbaro, the academic registrar Odilon Dizon, the deputy academic registrar Caleb Opwora and the administrator Peter Ng’eno among others.
The University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Charles Kyallo has extended an invite from Kenyan Bishops to pray for Pope Francis’s visit.
The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) pastoral department, on October 27, invited young people to get involved in the preparation for the coming of the Pope to Kenya through prayer and other logistic preparations.
The Japan Information and Culture Center held the J-Pop festival on 2nd and 3rd October 2015 at the embassy of Japan in Nairobi. The festival was a mesh between the Anime (Animations) Festival and a J-pop Nodojiman and cosplay competition. H.E. Mr. Tatsushi Terada, Ambassador of Japan to Kenya and Mr. Nicholas ole Moipei, 2015 JAMAFEST Director officially opened the competition.
Centre for Social Justice and Ethics hosted the second interfaith youth forum on environment and peace on 9thand 10th October at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
The Environmental component of the forum created awareness among the youth on the forth-coming climate change negotiations in Paris. Young people were invited to use social media, and sign online petitions directed at world leaders to provide real solutions to the challenge of climate change.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) celebrated its 32nd graduation ceremony on 2nd October 2015. The high commissioner of the republic of Uganda to Kenya Angelina Wapakhabulo crowned the colorful ceremony as the guest of honour. Speaking at the ceremony, Wapakhabulo congratulated CUEA for championing higher education in the region.
For the second time, the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) library took the first position in the Annual Maktaba Awards. The Catholic university library attained the first position in the Academic Libraries Category as the best library in Kenya. KCA University and USIU took the second and the third positions respectively.
